Welcome to the Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis Webinar on covid-19 and to the second Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis: European Conference in Stockholm.

It is with great disappointment that we have to announce that the Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis (SBCA) together with the local organizers, the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) and the Centre for Transport Studies Stockholm at the Royal Institute of Technology (CTS/KTH) have decided to cancel the 2020 European Conference that was to be held in Stockholm in October. Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, which we fear may not be over by October, it was decided that the most responsible option was to cancel this year’s event already now. Instead, the conference will be postponed to October 2021.

Together with the SBCA we will organize a webinar on benefit-cost analysis and covid-19 on October 14, 2020. The webinar consists of talks by the keynote lecturers, Jason Shogren and John Hassler, which will be discussed by Christian Gollier of Toulouse School of Economics. It will be possible to pose questions to the speakers through a chat function.

Time for the webinar: October 14, 2020 at

15-17 Central European time (GMT +1)
09-11 Eastern standard time (GMT -5)

We hope that you will join us for a stimulating webinar in October and that you also will make it to the conference in 2021 in Stockholm!
